Lecturer Christopher Tucker wins AIA Design Pedagogy Award for innovative Abiotic Studio

Christopher Tucker, a lecturer in architecture at CAPLA, received the American Institute of Architects’ Design Pedagogy Award for his Abiotic Studio, a fourth-year course that challenges students to engage with ecological realities and reimagine post-industrial landscapes through more-than-human perspectives.

Affordable Housing Project Receives National Recognition

An innovative mixed-income housing development designed by an interdisciplinary team of CAPLA students was awarded Second Place/Honorable Mention in the 2019 Bank of America Merrill Lynch Low-Income Housing Challenge.

Cool Towers

This fall, students of the ARC 461p and 561p, Environmental Science Laboratory, finished construction and testing of their innovative 'Cool Towers'. This energy-saving technology was initially developed here at the University of Arizona.
